Straw marquetry has always been fragile. Its use is quite limited and requires a lot of precautions on functional items.
To protect it, most workshops use a glass or thick resin coating. However, this solution fails to highlight all the beauty of this very special material.

It is by feeding on this frustration that Paelis searched for a new way to protect straw marquetry and played on its willingness to combine tradition and innovation in partnership with the Vercadi workshop.
Inspired by the ancestral technique of stamp varnish and thanks to new technologies, we present Noticia, a one-of-a-kind product that protects the straw while preserving its natural appearance and reflections as best as possible.
This technique consists of applying a kind of second skin on it, which allows it to be more resistant to shocks and to elements.
